A Wise Coun­selor and a South­ern Gen­tle­man

Dear Ed­i­tor: I would like to pay trib­ute to a man who was born on a farm in Al­va­ton, Meri­wether County on Aug. 23, 1928, and lived through the Great De­pres­sion. At an early reader and loved his­tory and sto­ries that his grand­par­ents south­ern gen­tle­man.

I be­gan work­ing for him as a para­le­gal on June 5, 2001, and -

as I have been talk­ing to peo­ple around Cov­ing­ton, I would men­tion that I work for him. In all these years I have never helped my fam­ily.” Many times they will share their sto­ries of how they know him.
