James Dou­glas (Jimmy Nolan of Cov­ing­ton passed away Dec. 5 at East­side Med­i­cal Cen­ter. The son of Al­lie Will and Dovie Allene Ham­lin Nolan, he was born in 1935 in Cov­ing­ton. He was a mem­ber of Love­joy United Methodist Church where he was very in­volved with the bar­be­cue and grounds keep­ing. He was faith­ful with his at­ten­dance and ser­vice and was well-known for his char­ac­ter and kind and gen­tle spirit. His fam­ily was his main pri­or­ity, and he will be greatly missed.

Sur­viv­ing are wife Martha Jo Nolan of Cov­ing­ton; son and daugh­ter-in-law Todd and Beth Nolan of Ox­ford; daugh­ter and son-in-law Tina and Andy Giles of Cov­ing­ton; grand­chil­dren Christo­pher Wy­att, Ge­off Nolan, Laura Nolan, Kate Nolan, Cole Giles; great-grand­child John Carter Wy­att; brother and sis­ter-in-law Ricky and Joyce Nolan of Cov­ing­ton; brother-in-law Ray­mond (Vir­ginia) Townsend; brother-in-law James Townsend; many other close fam­ily mem­bers and friends. He was pre­ceded in death by par­ents Al­lie Will and Dovie Allene Ham­lin Nolan and in-laws Lewis and Musette Townsend.

Ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. Satur­day, Dec. 8, at Love­joy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Gravitt of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will be at Cov­ing­ton City Ceme­tery. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Fri­day, Dec. 7. In lieu of flow­ers do­na­tions may be made to Love­joy United Methodist Church, 12835 Ga.
