GPTC has high­est en­roll­ment in­crease

Based on pre­lim­i­nary data from the Tech­ni­cal Col­lege Sys­tem of Ge­or­gia, Ge­or­gia Pied­mont Tech­ni­cal Col­lege has the high­est sum­mer se­mes­ter in­crease in stu­dent en­roll­ment among the 25 tech­ni­cal col­leges statewide.

The col­lege has seen a to­tal en­roll­ment in­crease of 17 per­cent, and the num­ber of stu­dents tak­ing 12 credit hours or higher in­creased to 29 per­cent against the sys­tem’s aver­age, which is 7 per­cent.

Un­der the lead­er­ship and di­rec­tion of GPTC’s new pres­i­dent Dr. Jabari Si­mama, the col­lege has re­fo­cused it­self on new pro­cesses and pro­grams.

“We are ex­cited about the con­tin­ued growth of our col­lege,” said Si­mama. “There is a great need in our com­mu­nity for ed­u­ca­tion, and we are de­lighted to help more stu­dents ob­tain higher-pay­ing jobs and the Amer­i­can dream.”
