Mrs. Johnnie Mae Williams died June 15. Mrs. Williams was born in 1941 in Jasper County, the daughter of Mr. Oscar and Mrs. Eunice Benton. She joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age and later moved her membership to Bethel Grove Baptist Church, Monticello.
She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Thomas Williams, and to this union, four children were born. Preceding her in death are her husband, mother, father, two sisters, two brothers, two sisters-inlaw.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children Mr. and Mrs. Freddie (Alice) Freeman, Mr. Chuck Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Tracey) Cainion, Mr. and Mrs. Ladd (Sandra) Green; a devoted and caring son/nephew Mr. Willie Benton; brother Mr. Johnny Ree Benton; aunt Sally, of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 22 at Bethel Grove Baptist Church, Monticello, with the Rev. Lucious Solomon
Interment followed in the church cemetery. Family and friends acted as pallbearers and
