Ray Harper, 61, of Madi­son, died July 6. The son of Ray­mond and Lizzie Mae Harper, he was born in 1951 and was a life­long res­i­dent of Mor­gan County. He was a mem­ber of Brown­wood Bap­tist Church. Mr. Harper was a tal­ented man, work­ing in con­struc­tion most of his life. He en­joyed work­ing with his hands and liked to re­pair small equip­ment and build bird houses and rab­bit boxes.

Ray Harper is sur­vived by his sib­lings Jan­ice Cronic, Shirley Sid­well, Vi­vian Walker and Ralph, James Harper, Kenny Harper and Yvonne, Kathy Pusateri and Joe, and Patty Brooks and Randy. He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents and brother-in-law Ben Cronic.

The fam­ily re­ceived friends on Satur­day, July 13, 2013, at 10 a.m. at 1500 Knight Road. A grave­side ser­vice fol­lowed at 11 a.m. at the Brown­wood Ceme­tery with the Rev. Ron Swann of ciat­ing.

Hon­orary pall­bear­ers were Cody Harper, Ronny Sto­vall, Shane Sto­vall, Ricky Sto­vall, Steve Sto­vall, Gar­rett Bone and Wayne Walker.
