New coun­try club now or­ga­niz­ing at High­land Golf Course

Or­ga­ni­za­tion of a coun­try club next to the present High­land Golf Course near Salem us un­der­way in Cony­ers, Cov­ing­ton and Litho­nia.

The ini­tial meet­ing of the club, at which pre­lim­i­nary plans were an­nounced, was held Mon­day evening at High­land with some 150 per­sons in at­ten­dance.

From Cov­ing­ton were Grady Cole­man, Walker Har­ris, Dennis Kane, Gerry Wen­del and John Mor­ford.

Mr. Cole­man said that shares of stock will be sold in the club at $300 per per­son. The mem­ber­ship has many ad­van­tages for the mem­ber and his fam­ily.

The dues will be $25 per month for a full mem­ber­ship and $10 per month for a so­cial mem­ber­ship.

The name of the club will be Field­stone Coun­try Club, and the or­ga­ni­za­tion will lease the new golf course and op­er­ate it. Fea­tures will in­clude a club­house, swim­ming pool, men’s grill, and lighted ten­nis courts.

And there will be golf clin­ics for the chil­dren of mem­bers, Mr. Cole­man added.

Cole­man stated that the mem­ber­ship goal has been set at 450 char­ter mem­bers.
