AHS to host PROBE Col­lege Fair

New­ton County high school stu­dents are in­vited to reg­is­ter for a col­lege fair to be held at Al­covy High School in Septem­ber.

The New­ton County School Sys­tem will host a PROBE Coll ege Fair from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in the Al­covy High com­mons area.

PROBE is an or­ga­nized col­lege fair tour that at­tracts rep­re­sen­ta­tives from non-profit ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions to shop­ping malls, civic cen­ters, and high schools in the state, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease from the New­ton County School Sys­tem.

All high school stu­dents in the county are in­vited. Stu­dents and par­ents will have the chance to speak with rep­re­sen­ta­tives from nearly 70 col­leges and tech­ni­cal col­leges through­out Ge­or­gia. The rep­re­sen­ta­tives will be able to an­swer ques­tions about fi­nan­cial aid; hous­ing; pro­grams of study; ad­mis­sions re­quire­ments; schol­ar­ships; and cam­pus life.

Tim­ica Parker, lead coun­selor for Al­covy High School, en­cour­aged all high school stu­dents and par­ents to at­tend. “This is an ex­cel­lent op­por­tu­nity for stu­dents and par­ents to see the many op­tions avail­able to them in terms of col­leges, pro­grams of study, and fi­nan­cial aid,” Parker said. Stu­dents can reg­is­ter by vis­it­ing go­to­col­lege­fairs.com and click­ing “reg­is­ter now” for the “Ge­or­gia Probe 9/4/13 Wed­nes­day Septem­ber 4, 2013 5:30 -7:30 pm Al­covy High School.” How­ever, pre-regis­tra­tion is not manda­tory.
