Job seek­ers in­vited to ca­reer expo

AT­LANTA – The Ge­or­gia Depart­ment of La­bor’s (GDOL) North Metro Ca­reer Cen­ter and Hosea Feed the Hun­gry and Home­less (HFTH) will spon­sor La­bor of Love, a re­source and ca­reer expo, Thurs­day, Sept. 5, in At­lanta. The expo will be held from 9 a.m.–noon in the Gold Park­ing Lot of Turner Field, lo­cated at 755 Hank Aaron Drive.

The expo will fea­ture a num­ber of em­ploy­ers, ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions, and re­source agen­cies that pro­vide as­sis­tance to job seek­ers. Em­ploy­ers will be hir­ing or dis­cussing cur­rent and fu­ture em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties, while other or­ga­ni­za­tions will pro­vide ed­u­ca­tion and ad­di­tional re­sources. Var­i­ous job-readi­ness work­shops will be avail­able, and HFTH will pro­vide gro­ceries to at­ten­dees in need.

At­ten­dees should bring plenty of ré­sumés and be pre­pared to fill out com- pany ap­pli­ca­tions and in­ter­view for avail­able job open­ings. They are also en­cour­aged to dress ap­pro­pri­ately to im­prove their op­por­tu­ni­ties for em­ploy­ment.

Among those ex­pected to par­tic­i­pate are: Ar­eas USA At­lanta; Art In­sti­tute of At­lanta; AT&T; Avon; Belhaven Univer­sity; Com­cast Te­le­sales Depart­ment; DeKalb County 911; Depart­ment of Ju­ve­nile Jus­tice; DeVry Univer­sity; Gwin­nett County Po­lice Depart­ment; KES Inc; Lab Corp.; Lowes Home Im­prove­ment; Mary Kay Cos­met­ics; Pawn Mart; Perime­ter Staffing Place­ments; Primer­ica; Se­cu­ri­tas; Shorter Univer­sity; Sodexo; and Wash­ing­ton Me­mo­rial Gar­dens.
