Richard J. Katenkamp, 81, of Cov­ing­ton, passed away Sept. 22. Mr. Katenkamp was a com­mer­cial drafts­man for 50 years. He faith­fully served his coun­try in the United States Air Force dur­ing the Korean War and also served in the Naval Re­serve.

He loved his fam­ily dearly and en­joyed the hol­i­days and spend­ing time with his neigh­bors. Mr. Katenkamp was pre­ceded in death by his wife, Me­lanie Katenkamp, grand­daugh­ter, Heather Anne Mieras, and par­ents, Earl Louis and Anne Louise Katenkamp.

Sur­vivors in­clude his son, Joseph Katenkamp, of Pinel­las Park, Fla.; daugh­ter and sonin-law, Kathy and John Curry, of Columbia, S.C.; grand­chil­dren, Sarah Todd, of Chapin, S.C., and Kim­berly Curry, of Columbia; great- grand­chil­dren An­thony Mieras, Kaden Todd, and Noah Todd; sis­ter, Sally Moulse, of Roanoke, Va.; brother, David Katenkamp, of Vir­ginia; and loving friend and mother of Kathy and Joseph, Peggy Mathis.
