Robert Leon Car­swell, 82, of Lil­burn, past away Dec. 29. Born in Camp­ton in 1931, he was a grad­u­ate of Snel­lville High School. He re­tired from Tex­aco De­cem­ber of 1986, served in the U. S. Army in the Korean War and was a mem­ber of Mounta in Park Bap­tist Church of Lil­burn since 1962. He en­joyed hunt­ing, fish­ing and spend­ing time with fam­ily and friends.

He loved the At­lanta Braves and NAS­CAR ( who­ever was driv­ing the Havo­line Car). He was pro­ceeded in death by par­ents Robert Kim­ball and Min­nie Nana Davis Car­swell and mother- in- law Stella Gorm­ley.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife of 58 years Polly Hicks Car­swell; son Keith Car­swell of Mon­roe; daugh­ters and sons- in- laws Karen and Ge­orge M. ( Mike) Har­ri­son III of Cov­ing­ton, and Jill and Tim James of Lil­burn; grand­chil­dren Mar­i­anne and Hus­band Aubrey Akin, Len­non Har­ri­son, Travis and wife Rachel Har­ri­son, Tara Har­ri­son and Kye James; great- grand­chil­dren Phillip Akin, Wy­att Akin, and An­naClaire Har­ri­son.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at 1 p. m. Satur­day, Jan. 4, at Wages and Sons Stone Moun­tain Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Moore of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­tern­ment will fol­low at Corinth Ceme­tery.

Fam­ily will re­ceive friends from 4 to 8 p. m. Fri­day, Jan. 3. Flow­ers are ac­cepted or memo­ri­als may be made to Corinth Ceme­tery Per­pet­ual Care, P. O. Box 870048, Stone Moun­tain, Ga. 30087.
