Harold Lunsford, 92, of Cov­ing­ton, passed away Dec. 30. Mr. Lunsford was born in Craw­fordville in 1921. He served his coun­try hon­or­ably in the Navy dur­ing World War II. In 1953, he met and mar­ried Frances Har­ris. Mr. Lunsford worked for the Ge­or­gia Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion for years and re­tired in 1979. He was a long time mem­ber of Ox­ford Bap­tist Church and loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Lunsford was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents Ray­mond and Clyde ( Bea­z­ley) Lunsford.

Sur­vivors in­clude his lov­ing wife of 60 years, Frances H. Lunsford; chil­dren Becky Lunsford Martin and her hus­band Tol­lie of Ox­ford, Ken­neth Lunsford and his wife Rose of Gainesville; grand­sons Trevor Lunsford, Matthew Lunsford; sis­ter Gla­dys L. Kel­ley of Wellsville, N. Y.; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Fu­neral ser­vices for Mr. Lunsford will be held at 1 p. m. Fri­day, Jan. 3, at the chapel of Cald­well & Cowan Fu­neral Home, 1215 Ac­cess Road, in Cov­ing­ton, with Dr. Alan Posey and the Rev.
