Harold Lunsford, 92, of Covington, passed away Dec. 30. Mr. Lunsford was born in Crawfordville in 1921. He served his country honorably in the Navy during World War II. In 1953, he met and married Frances Harris. Mr. Lunsford worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for years and retired in 1979. He was a long time member of Oxford Baptist Church and loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Lunsford was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Clyde ( Beazley) Lunsford.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Frances H. Lunsford; children Becky Lunsford Martin and her husband Tollie of Oxford, Kenneth Lunsford and his wife Rose of Gainesville; grandsons Trevor Lunsford, Matthew Lunsford; sister Gladys L. Kelley of Wellsville, N. Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Lunsford will be held at 1 p. m. Friday, Jan. 3, at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. Alan Posey and the Rev.
