Eagles handle Henry County
The Eastside Eagles varsity basketball team picked up its 11th win of the season Saturday on the road, handling Henry County 58-43.
The victory moves the Eagles to 11-2 this season, and the Eagles have not lost in almost a month since falling to Newton on Dec. 13.
Senior Treyvon Francis led the Eagles in the first quarter, scoring five points to help the Eagles to a 12-6 advantage.
The second quarter saw Eastside extend its lead to 14, as Justin Adams and Larry Saxton scored five points each to push the Eagles’ advantage to 26-12 at halftime. Eastside outscored the Warhawks 14-6 in the frame, limiting Henry County to six points in each of the opening two quarters.
The Eagles suffered a setback in the third quarter, however, as Eastside was whistled for 10 fouls in less than five minutes, sending Francis to the bench with four fouls after finishing the first half without a foul called against him.
