Ea­gles han­dle Henry County

The Eastside Ea­gles var­sity bas­ket­ball team picked up its 11th win of the sea­son Satur­day on the road, han­dling Henry County 58-43.

The vic­tory moves the Ea­gles to 11-2 this sea­son, and the Ea­gles have not lost in al­most a month since fall­ing to Newton on Dec. 13.

Se­nior Treyvon Fran­cis led the Ea­gles in the first quar­ter, scor­ing five points to help the Ea­gles to a 12-6 ad­van­tage.

The sec­ond quar­ter saw Eastside ex­tend its lead to 14, as Justin Adams and Larry Sax­ton scored five points each to push the Ea­gles’ ad­van­tage to 26-12 at half­time. Eastside outscored the Warhawks 14-6 in the frame, lim­it­ing Henry County to six points in each of the open­ing two quar­ters.

The Ea­gles suf­fered a set­back in the third quar­ter, how­ever, as Eastside was whis­tled for 10 fouls in less than five min­utes, send­ing Fran­cis to the bench with four fouls af­ter fin­ish­ing the first half with­out a foul called against him.
