Elisha “Junior” Hardy

Mr. Elisha “Junior” Hardy, 79, of Covington, passed away at his residence Jan. 8. The son of the late Elisha Frances and Lillie Mae Carter Hardy, he was born in 1934 in Jasper. Mr. Hardy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and animals, especially feeding the fish in the pond behind his house, and going to flea markets and thrift stores. He owned and operated Hardy’s Citgo in Social Circle for many years. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Kay Hardy, and his grandson, Andy Harville.
He is survived by his children, Benny and Vickie Hardy of Oxford, Anne Harville of Eatonton, and Randall Hardy of Covington; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Billie Jean Hardy of Conyers; sister, Bernice Biggers of Covington; special friend Edna Hardy of Monroe; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 11, at the chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sorrells and the Rev. Mike Hardy officiating.
