Mr. James Lee King Sr.

Mr. James Lee King Sr. was called to eternal rest on January 6, 2014. He was born Nov. 5, 1938, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Samuel (Essie Lee Dodson) King in Sharon, Ga.
He attended James Paschal Baptist Church of Covington and attended school in Morgan County.
On Oct. 28, 1959, he married Mrs. Odessa Mae Jackson King, and they were blessed with three children. James was employed for about 22 years with the City of Atlanta.
He will be remembered as a hard worker, father and husband. His loving wife preceded him in death; also seven brothers and three sisters: Buddy, Japhus, Ulysses, Ellis, Joe, Eddie Bee, Hoover, Nancy, Nell and Minnie.
Mr. James King Sr. leaves to cherish his memories his three children, Mr. & Mrs. Michael (Dorothy) Jones, Ms. Alice King and Mr. James King Jr.; two brothers, Mr. Ralph King and Mr. MacArthur King of Atlanta; one sister, Ms. Lessie Pearl King of Madison; several sistersin-law; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. Jan. 10 at Lester Lackey & Sons Chapel, Covington, with Pastor Mamie J. Caldwell, eulogist. Interment followed in Sims Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family extends their greatest appreciation for each act of kindness, prayer and expression of love shown during this time of bereavement.
