Mr. James Lee King Sr. was called to eter­nal rest on Jan­uary 6, 2014. He was born Nov. 5, 1938, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Sa­muel (Essie Lee Dod­son) King in Sharon, Ga.

He at­tended James Paschal Bap­tist Church of Covington and at­tended school in Mor­gan County.

On Oct. 28, 1959, he mar­ried Mrs. Odessa Mae Jack­son King, and they were blessed with three chil­dren. James was em­ployed for about 22 years with the City of At­lanta.

He will be re­mem­bered as a hard worker, fa­ther and hus­band. His lov­ing wife pre­ceded him in death; also seven broth­ers and three sis­ters: Buddy, Ja­phus, Ulysses, El­lis, Joe, Ed­die Bee, Hoover, Nancy, Nell and Min­nie.

Mr. James King Sr. leaves to cher­ish his mem­o­ries his three chil­dren, Mr. & Mrs. Michael (Dorothy) Jones, Ms. Alice King and Mr. James King Jr.; two broth­ers, Mr. Ralph King and Mr. MacArthur King of At­lanta; one sis­ter, Ms. Lessie Pearl King of Madi­son; sev­eral sis­tersin-law; four grand­chil­dren; one great-grand­child; and a host of nieces, neph­ews, other rel­a­tives and friends.

Funeral ser­vices were held at 6 p.m. Jan. 10 at Lester Lackey & Sons Chapel, Covington, with Pas­tor Mamie J. Cald­well, eu­lo­gist. In­ter­ment fol­lowed in Sims Chapel Bap­tist Church Ceme­tery.

The fam­ily ex­tends their great­est ap­pre­ci­a­tion for each act of kind­ness, prayer and ex­pres­sion of love shown dur­ing this time of be­reave­ment.
