Social Circle coach Randy Prater said he was very happy about how his Redskins performed at the East Metro Tournament.

“We are getting better every week," Prater said. " I believe this is the first time we have ever won this tournament. Last year, we got second place behind Oconee by 13 points. It was nice to be able to win a tournament of this size while missing three or four of your starters. ... I am very happy (about) how we did.”

The Redskins had 11 placers at the tournament.

Reid Harris (120), David Engstrom (145) and Jeremy Tyson (170) were all tournament champions.

Cade Lackey (138) finished second, with Stevie Howard (113), Jacob Noth (152) and Eric Wilson (285) all placing third in their weight classes.

The Redskins return to action when they host the Redskins Rumble this weekend at Social Circle High School on Saturday. This will be the last tournament of the year for Social Circle before heading into the Area tournament, Sectional Tournament and State tournament for the AA classification.
