Ox­ford Lions to host an­nual pan­cake sup­per

The Ox­ford Lions are still flip­ping af­ter all these years, and will host their an­nual pan­cake sup­per af­ter more than 60 years of serv­ing the breakfast fa­vorites in the evening.

The pan­cakes will hit the grid­dle Feb. 28 from 5- 8 p. m. at Flint Hill Ele­men­tary School.

The Ox­ford Lions are Part­ners in Ed­u­ca­tion with Flint Hill and as­sist with school projects. At the end of each school year, the Lions pro­vide bi­cy­cles to a boy and girl from the third, fourth and fifth grades whom teach­ers have se­lected as the mostim­proved stu­dents.

Pro­ceeds from the sup­per are used for ser­vice projects sup­ported by the Ox­ford Lions Club. In ad­di­tion the Flint Hill part­ner­ship, the Lions spon­sor a Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop, Ven­ture Crew, and Amer­i­can Her­itage Girls.

Sight preser­va­tion also re­mains a pri­mary fo­cus of the Lions, who pro­vide glasses to those in need and sup­port the Lions Lighthouse and the Ge­or­gia Lions Camp for the Blind.

The Ox­ford Lions Club has sup­ported its com­mu­nity since be­ing char­tered in 1951. For the past eight years, it has co- spon­sored the Fourth of July Pa­rade and Cel­e­bra­tion with the City of Ox­ford.

The Ox­ford Lions in­vite the com­mu­nity to sup­port them by com­ing to the pan­cake sup­per and en­joy­ing all- you- can- eat plain or blue­berry pan­cakes and Ho­lifield sausages.

Adult tick­ets are $ 5, and child tick­ets are $ 3. Tick­ets can be pur­chased from any Ox­ford Lion or at the door.
