Eastside tops Eastside, 9-8
Alumni host annual soccer match
Some of Eastside's truest alumni reunite
Former teammates, including current Principal Jeff Cher, the all-time winningest coach in boys and girls program history reunited Saturday for the 3rd Annual Eastside High School Alumni Soccer Match. Thirty-two players including EHS graduates from as far back as 2003 to current Eagles and Lady Eagles made the trek to the pitch at Cousins Middle School. After 80 minutes of soccer the match was decided by a single goal, with one team winning 9-8. Current head coach Champ Young divided the teams up by skill level in what proved to be a pretty evenly matched contest. The four elder graduates, Daniel Lanford (2003), TJ Alexander (2003), Champ Young (2004) and Lennon Harrison (2005) all played for the winning side this day. Coach/Principal Jeff Cher played a bit for both sides.
