Es­caped Ga. in­mate cap­tured af­ter

FORSYTH, Ga. (AP) — Au­thor­i­ties in Mon­roe County say an es­caped in­mate was cap­tured af­ter a group of hunters dis­cov­ered him.

The hunters called au­thor­i­ties, and deputies ar­rested James Dou­glas Kelly with­out in­ci­dent shortly af­ter 5.p.m. Fri­day. He was taken to the Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions State Di­ag­nos­tic Cen­ter in Jack­son.

The Tele­graph news­pa­per in Ma­con re­ports that Kelly es­caped Wed­nes­day while on work de­tail. The Mon­roe County Sher­iff’s Of­fice said in a news re­lease that the hunters found him un­der a cov­ered shed at a camp near Tobe­sof­kee Creek eat­ing hot­dogs and drink­ing al­co­hol.

Kelly was in prison serv­ing a sen­tence for bur­glary and ob­struc­tion of a law en­force­ment of­fi­cer.
