GPC re­news ac­cred­i­ta­tion

Ge­or­gia Perime­ter Col­lege, which has a cam­pus in New­ton County, re­ceived good news re­cently.

The South­ern As­so­ci­a­tion of Col­leges and Schools Board of Trustees voted June 19 to reaf­firm Ge­or­gia Perime­ter Col­lege’s (GPC) ac­cred­i­ta­tion for 10 years. The board also voted to lift the fi­nan­cial warn­ing it is­sued to the col­lege in De­cem­ber 2012, ac­knowl­edg­ing that Ge­or­gia Perime­ter is now in com­pli­ance with all SACS fi­nan­cial stan­dards.

“This is the last item of busi­ness re­lated to the col­lege’s fis­cal year 2012 fi­nan­cial cri­sis,” said Rob Watts, in­terim pres­i­dent for GPC. “The col­lege is clos­ing this chap­ter in its his­tory. We are now fo­cused on the col­lege’s 50th en­ter­ing class, which will ar­rive in 60 days. This is a very good day for the col­lege.”

GPC’s New­ton cam­pus opened at 239 Cedar Ln, Cov­ing­ton, GA, in 2007.
