They went down to Warner Robins undefeated and came back with two losses to Peachtree City and Warner Robins.

Peachtree won 18-10 and Warner Robins won 12-7.

According to head coach Kyle Ellis the team walked a lot of batters and they really beat themselves.

“We struggled with our pitching,” Ellis said.

Ellis added that teams from the other tournaments were better and that he felt if they went down there again they would beat both teams.

Ellis said the boys were used to winning and used the trip to Warner Robins as a chance to have a good time and go swimming.

Most of the teams that Newton played were all eight year olds. Ellis believes next year can be their year.

Ellis said, “Next year if we can all stay together, [the opposition] is not gonna have a chance.”
