Clarification

The Covington News - - OPINION -

In the editorial that ran in the Our Thoughts section of Wednesday, July 2 edition of The Covington News entitled “Runoff” there is a clarification concerning who can vote for which election.

You do not to be a registered Republican to vote in the Republican races, nor registered Democrat to vote in the Democrat races. In Georgia a voter can vote for either party in the primary election, regardless of their registered party.

However, if you voted in the primary, you must vote for that same party in a runoff election, according to the Newton County Board of Elections.
