The City of Ox­ford is ac­cept­ing ap­pli­ca­tions for the po­si­tion of Pub­lic Works & Util­i­ties Main­te­nance Worker 1. Re­quired train­ing and ex­pe­ri­ence in­clude a high school di­ploma or a GED, Abil­ity to read, write and per­form ba­sic math­e­mat­i­cal cal­cu­la­tions. Must have a valid driver’s li­cense is­sued by the State of Ge­or­gia, with a 3-year clean record. CDL pre­ferred. If no CDL upon em­ploy­ment, em­ployee may be ex­pected to qual­ify for CDL within a rea­son­able pe­riod of time.

Pre­fer knowl­edge of safety pro­ce­dures per­tain­ing to pub­lic works ac­tiv­i­ties, city ge­og­ra­phy and lo­ca­tions of util­ity me­ters. Skills in op­er­at­ing pub­lic works and util­ity equip­ment. Abil­ity to ac­quire train­ing and learn new skills re­quired for ad­vanced work, such as elec­tri­cal line work. Ex­pe­ri­ence in Ground-man line work is a plus.
