Newton County Sheriff’s Office to hold annual school supply drive
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Washington Street Community Center, the Salvation Army and the A.K.A. Sorority Inc. for its Annual Back to School Supply Drive.
In NCSO’s third straight year participating in the supply drive, distribution will be July 27 at 3 p.m. at the Newton County Recreation Center’s Turner Lake Complex.
In the last two years, the Annual Back to School Supply Drive has resulted in the distribution of more than 1,500 packs filled with school supplies for students in Newton County. Drive organizers are hoping for a bigger payoff, setting their sights at providing for 2,000 students.
“This is a great opportunity to help the many families and children go back to school prepared,” NCSO Sheriff Ezell Brown said. “We are privileged to have the chance to help in our local community. In order to have the greatest impact possible, we request your support with a tax deductible contribution.”
The sheriff’s office is also accepting donations in the form of sponsorships, which are broken down to four levels: platinum for $1,000; gold for $500, silver for $250 and bronze for $100. Checks should be made payable to “Deputies Who Care,” Newton County Sheriff’s Office, 15151 Alcovy-Jersey Road, NE, Covington, GA, 30014.
