Mrs. Jayne Sat­ter­field Wheeler Fu­neral Home

Jayne Sat­ter­field, 78 of Cov­ing­ton, passed away Wed­nes­day, July 16 at Abbey Hospice. Jayne was born on Fe­bru­ary 23, 1936 to Charner and Frieda (Seddon) Pea­cock in At­lanta. She was a lov­ing wife, mother and grand­mother. Mrs. Sat­ter­field was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band of 58 years, Orlin R. Sat­ter­field in 2013 and her par­ents.

She is sur­vived by her chil­dren; son Barney Sat­ter­field, daugh­ter Reneé Dur­den, son Mitchell Sat­ter­field and daugh­ter Lesli Sat­ter­field; grand­chil­dren Andrew Dur­den, Katie Dur­den Pat­ter­son, Ryan Palmer and Jesi Daven­portp; great-grand- chil­dren Wil­low Palmer and Syd­ney Pat­ter­son; and sis­ter Con­nie Pea­cock Smith.

A grave­side ser­vice will be held on Mon­day, July 21, 2014 at the Ge­or­gia Na­tional Ceme­tery 1080 Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery Road, Can­ton, GA 30114 at 12:30 p.m. with El­der Paul Brown of­fi­ci­at­ing. Mrs. Mae Hard­man Cald­well & Cowan Fu­neral Home

Mae Hard­man, of Rabun Gap, for­merly of Por­terdale, Ge­or­gia, passed away July 15, 2014. Mae was born Novem­ber 26, 1925, to Car­rie Mae (Lunsford) and Wil­liam Grady Hard­man. She had lived in Rabun County since 1971, where she taught at Rabun Gap-Na­coochee School un­til her re­tire­ment. Prior to teach­ing, Mae was a so­cial worker for Bibb Man­u­fac­tur­ing Com­pany for 27 years. She was very ac­tive in both of her com­mu­ni­ties, which she dearly loved. Mae served in many civic or­ga­ni­za­tions and held po­si­tions over the years in both the Por­terdale Pres­by­te­rian Church and the Rabun Gap Pres­by­te­rian Church. Mae ded­i­cated her life to the ser­vice of God and all people with whom she had con­tact. She was a car­ing and de­voted daugh­ter, sis­ter, aunt and friend. She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents and only sib­ling, James.

Sur­vivors in­clude her two nieces, Dorothy Ellen Hard­man of Fort Val­ley, Ge­or­gia, Jane Hard­man Alexan­der of Cov­ing­ton; nephew, James E. Hard­man, Jr., and his wife, Martha of Cov­ing­ton; and a great-niece, Car­rie Melissa Hard­man of Ma­con.

A Grave­side Ser­vice for Mae was held Satur­day, July 19, 2014, 11 a.m., at Carmel Ceme­tery, in Mans­field, with the Rev. Don Bar­ber of­fi­ci­at­ing. In lieu of flow­ers, Mae’s fam­ily asks that any me­mo­rial be made to Rabun Gap Pres­by­te­rian Church, 8397 North Wolf­fork Road, P.O. Box 333, Rabun Gap, GA 30568.
