The Covington News - - OPINION -

Work at the intersection of State Road 81 and Crowell Road should be finished about a year after it begins in September, Newton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Keith Ellis said Friday.

Amy Stelzer: “Why cant they finish all the other construction projects on other roads ( like 212 between bethany/butler bridge and oak hill and the project on 81 around oak hill and bethany) before starting a new one??????”

Scott Peacock: “It’s not the same construction crews. Those are private owned companies not county crews.”

Ed Applewhite: “Why is it going to take a year for such a small undertaking - will be kinda like the bridge in my neighbor hood that had us in a detour for a year when they only worked on the project about 90 of those days”

Linda Finger “It’s not a small project. When completed you will understand why it takes so long.”
