cameras on Silver Comet trail
DALLAS, Ga. (AP) — The Paulding County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that it plans to add dozens of high-resolution cameras along the Silver Comet Trail in the wake of an attack that left a jogger severely injured.
About 47 high-resolution digital cameras would be added at about 21 locations along the trail in the first phase of the project, with more cameras added later.
The expansion of cameras would be a dramatic upgrade, since there now only three sites with cameras along Paulding County's 18mile portion of the trail.
The sheriff also hopes to purchase two more vehicles to patrol the trail.
The 42-year-old woman was attacked July 29 and is continuing to recover at a hospital. No arrests have been made.
