Mrs. Joann Walsh Far­ley Wheeler Funeral Home

Mrs. Joann Walsh Far­ley, 77 of Cov­ing­ton, passed away on Mon­day, Au­gust 4, 2014. She was born on April 9, 1937 in Waco, Texas to the late Wil­burn and Eula Mae Walsh. Mrs. Far­ley was pre­ceded in death by her lov­ing hus­band of 47 years Jack Far­ley.

Far­ley is sur­vived by her daugh­ters Rose Jor­dan of Cov­ing­ton, and Su­san Mor­row of Ma­ri­etta, Ohio; sons Wil­liam Far­ley of Reno, Ohio and Dwayne Far­ley of Ma­ri­etta, Ohio; grand­chil­dren Dixie Hil­ton, Justin Far­ley, Sa­man­tha Rob­bi­nette, Sab­rina Dunn and Sara Far­ley and five great grand­chil­dren.

Crypt side ser­vices will be held 1 p.m. Fri­day, Au­gust 8, 2014 at Eastl­wan Memo­rial Park Mau­soleum in Ma­ri­etta, Ohio. Mr. Wil­liam W. Smith, Jr. Cald­well & Cowan Funeral Home

Wil­liam W. Smith, Jr., of Cov­ing­ton, passed away on Au­gust 7, 2014, at the age of 85. He was a faith­ful mem­ber of Greater Grace Church in Cov­ing­ton, where he served as an el­der. Mr. Smith was re­tired from Dart Con­tainer, where he was a truck driver for 20 years. He en­joyed fish­ing, hunt­ing and vol­un­teer­ing his time to help those in need. Smith loved peo­ple and he never met a stranger. He was loved and will be missed by a host of fam­ily and friends. Mr. Smith was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Lula and Wil­liam Smith, and sis­ters, Ann Mor­ris, Ruby Jones and Betty McFeren.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife of 68 years, Gla­dys Smith; daugh­ter and sonin-law, Carol and Marvin Rhear of Cum­ming; sons and daugh­ters-in-law, Ger­ald and Pam Smith, Ricky and Pa­tri­cia Smith, all of Cony­ers, and Don­ald and Barbara Smith of Cov­ing­ton; grand­chil­dren, Lisa Jill­son of Vero Beach, Florida, Suzanne Smith of Sat­suma, Alabama, Jes­sica Sal­mon of Cov­ing­ton, Krystal Smith of Mans­field, Katie Sey­mour of Milledgeville, and Brian Smith of Cony­ers; four great grand­chil­dren; as well as nu­mer- ous nieces and neph­ews.

Funeral Ser­vices for Mr. Smith will be held Sun­day, Au­gust 10, 2014, 2 p.m., at Cald­well & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Ac­cess Road, in Cov­ing­ton. Pas­tor Win­ston Men­zies and Pas­tor Doug Nelms will be of­fi­ci­at­ing with in­ter­ment to fol­low in New Cov­ing­ton Ceme- tery. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the funeral home, Satur­day, Au­gust 9, from 6 – 8 p.m. Flow­ers are ac­cepted or do­na­tions may be made to Amer­i­can Can­cer So­ci­ety, 1684 Bar­nett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
