Mrs. Rosa Mil­li­gan, age 93, of Por­terdale passed away Au­gust 12, 2014 at her home. She was born April 4, 1921 in Col­lege Park, Ge­or­gia to the late Lon­nie and Ly­dia Massey Wil­liams. Mrs. Mil­li­gan was re­tired from Bell­south and was a mem­ber of the Pioneer’s Club. She was a mem­ber of Sewell United Methodist Church where she en­joyed go­ing to singings and be­ing in­volved when she could. Mrs. Mil­li­gan was also a mem­ber of the New­ton County Repub­li­can Party. She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band Homer La­mar Mil­li­gan, her chil­dren Phyl­lis Roberts, Edward Mil­li­gan and Carolyn Mil­li­gan.

Mrs. Mil­li­gan is sur­vived by her daugh­ter He­len Walden of Por­terdale, her grand­chil­dren Scott Walden (Cathy) of Por­terdale, Kristy Loftin (Phil- lip) of Jef­fer­son, Tammy Walden of Cov­ing­ton, Barry Walden of Jef­fer­son, Jenny Pat­ton of Por­terdale and Tony Roberts (Sab­rina) of North Au­gusta, S.C. her great grand­chil­dren Jamie Walden, Christo­pher Loftin, Kim­berly Loftin, An­drew Miller and Dy­lan Bryant along with her great-great grand­chil­dren Keleigh McDon­ald, Caylin Loftin and Ai­den Walden. She is also sur­vived by her sis­ter Clara Rose of Hamp­ton, nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews and many close friends.Funeral ser­vices for Mrs. Mil­li­gan will be held at 2 o’clock Thurs­day, Au­gust 14, 2014 at the Chapel of J.C. Har­well and Son Funeral Home with Rev­erend Richard Har­ris of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Cov­ing­ton Mill Cemetery. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. un­til 8 p.m. on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 13, 2014. J.C.
