The Covington News - - OPINION -

Jimbo’s in Porterdale is facing a 12-month probation for failing to pay taxes on its distilled spirits license. Read the story to see the stipulations the City of Porterdale gave Jim Stalvey to follow in order to keep the restaurant’s bar open.

Andy Cartledge said: “You’re saying that a porterdale establishment is breaking the law? Tell me it’s not true, and a Stalvey is corrupt? Say it’s not so.”

Philip Van Pelt said: “Crooked piece of garbage!! Ate at Stalvey’s one time when I moved to Covington and was so sick I about died. Throwing up like crazy!! Turned out I got it from the silverware!!! Cause 6 months later they were shut down for not washing it properly. Hope he loses every nasty restaurant he has!!!”

Kerry Thompson Parker said: “It’s amazing at how people bash a local businessman when they are probably just as guilty for something. Come on out and support him tonight. Show the people of Porterdale how Covington pulls together as a family, community and friend!!”

Charles Reynolds said: “Not saying they shouldn’t pay their taxes but maybe the IRS needs to get themselves right before they bother others!”
