Work Be­gins on New Power Line

Ser­vice As­sured by Early Sum­mer for Ru­ral Con­sumers

Ac­tual con­struc­tion of the lines of the new Snap­ping Shoals Power and Light Company got un­der way last week.

Right-of-ways are be­ing rapidly cleared along the line from Cov­ing­ton to­ward Ste­wart, and from Snap­ping Shoals north, and holes are be­ing dug for the place­ment of poles. Th­ese are now in tran­sit and con­tract shave been made for truck­ing them from the rail­road sta­tion to their places along the ser­vice lines.

By the early sum­mer the work should be com­pleted with the cur­rent ready for hun­dreds of ru­ral res­i­dents of this and ad­join­ing coun­ties.

Lo­cal elec­tric ser­vice com­pa­nies are busy wiring homes of peo­ple who will make use of the ser­vice of the new company.
