Work Begins on New Power Line
Service Assured by Early Summer for Rural Consumers
Actual construction of the lines of the new Snapping Shoals Power and Light Company got under way last week.
Right-of-ways are being rapidly cleared along the line from Covington toward Stewart, and from Snapping Shoals north, and holes are being dug for the placement of poles. These are now in transit and contract shave been made for trucking them from the railroad station to their places along the service lines.
By the early summer the work should be completed with the current ready for hundreds of rural residents of this and adjoining counties.
Local electric service companies are busy wiring homes of people who will make use of the service of the new company.
