Cather­ine Cren­shaw Berry, also af­fec­tion­ately known as “Nanny”, passed away Septem­ber 10, 2014, at the age of 100. She en­joyed cook­ing, quilt­ing, spend­ing time out­doors and can­ning vegetables. She owned Berry’s Boat Dock, and for more than 72 years, peo­ple came ex­pect­ing to see her sit­ting on the front porch swing! She never met a stranger. Nanny loved an­i­mals, but more than any­thing, she loved her fam­ily and cher­ished her time with her grand­chil­dren. She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, John­nie Franklin Berry; sons, Ron­ald Franklin Berry, Ralph Glenn Berry; par­ents, Ralph John and Cor­rine (Ivey) Cren­shaw; sis­ters, Eve­lyn Marie Cren­shaw, Melba Louise Cren­shaw; and an in­fant brother.

Sur­vivors in­clude her son, Bobby Berry of Cov­ing­ton; grand­chil­dren, Dar­ren Berry, Robby Berry, Tony Berry, Michael Berry, Lisha Smith, Brandy Berry Anglin, Jonathan Berry, Laura Berry; great-grand­chil­dren, Levi Berry, Bri­anna Berry, Mag­gie Berry, Kate­lynn Anglin, Cameron Anglin, Say­lor Berry, Nolan Berry, Austin Mitchell; daugh­ters-in-law, Maryann Berry, Glenda Lewis; as well as sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Fu­neral Ser­vices for Mrs. Berry will be held Mon­day, Septem­ber 15, 2014, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Cald­well & Cowan Fu­neral Home, 1215 Ac­cess Road, in Cov­ing­ton, with Pas­tor Dar­rell Payne of­fi­ci­at­ing, and in­ter­ment fol­low­ing in Berry’s Fam­ily Ceme­tery. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the fu­neral home Sun­day, Septem­ber 14, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
