John Thomas Tiltti, 71, of Cov­ing­ton passed away at his home on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 10, 2014. He was born in New York, New York to the late Phillip and Helvi Tiltti.

Mr. Tiltti served in the US Army and was re­tired from the Bor­der Pa­trol where he served as an agent for 32 years. He was nick­named “Mad Man” be­cause of his de­ter­mi­na­tion to get the job done. He also worked at South River Gun Club.

Mr. Tiltti is sur­vived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dianne Tiltti of Cov­ing­ton; daugh­ters Kris­ten Tiltti of Corn­wall, New York and Amanda Tiltti of New Wind­sor, New York; grand­sons Seth (Lisa) Tiltti of Hol­i­day, Florida and Tay­lor Sto­vall of Corn­wall, New York; and brother and sis­ter-in-law Al­lan and Carol Tiltti of Bronx, New York.

A memo­rial gath­er­ing will be held Wed­nes­day, Sept. 17, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Wheeler Fu­neral Home. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends from 5-7 p.m., and have a shar­ing of mem­o­ries at 7 p.m. In lieu of flow­ers, memo­ri­als may be made to the Wounded War­rior Project, P.O.
