The News hosts Au­tumn Fest

Park­ing lot to fill up with ven­dors, mu­sic, fun

Mark your cal­en­dar and join the com­mu­nity for a week­end event to pro­vide fun, en­ter­tain­ment and even some early hol­i­day shop­ping for any­one in the fam­ily.

The Cov­ing­ton News is host­ing its first-ever Au­tumn Fest Satur­day, Sept. 20 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. right in the of­fice park­ing lot just off the down­town Square.

Come check out any of the at-least 30 ven­dors and browse their prod­ucts, from hand­crafted cof­fee and tea to home­made pre­serves to cro­cheted items and chil­dren’s books. There will be healthy food prod­ucts and origami and Tup­per­ware.

“With Christ­mas be­ing just three months away, it can be a nice op­por­tu­nity to get some early gifts,” said Cyn­thia War­ren, di­rec­tor of news­pa­per de­vel­op­ment at The News.

Live en­ter­tain­ment will be pro­vided by lo­cal Ash­ley Walden, and DJs will be sell­ing mixed CDs.

A travel agency will also be set up to help res­i­dents find early hol­i­day deals on their va­ca­tion plans.

Dar­rell Everidge, The News pho­tog­ra­pher, will be avail­able to take pho­tos, from Christ­mas cards to fam­ily por­traits, for a small fee.

At­ten­dees can park in the back park­ing lots be­hind The News.
