The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that roughly 30 percent of the population complains of chronic back pain in a given year.

Lower back pain is a problem that plagues millions of people and can lead to lost hours of work, poor quality of life and reduced mobility.

In fact, according to Global Burden of Disease 2010, low back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide. People spend around $50 billion each year on back pain treatments.

One solution to back pain is to consult with a chiropractor. The American Chiropractic Association says chiropractic spinal manipulation is a safe and effective pain treatment. It also can help return mobility and flexibility to the back.

With addiction to pain medications such a prevalent problem in both the United States and Canada, chiropractic care may be a good first step to alleviate pain and discomfort in the back.
