Our thoughts Too Much

The Covington News - - OPINION -

There is no question that throughout the last month there has been much political intrigue, finger pointing, punishments and revoked punishments, in our county leadership. The vote Tuesday night to reinstate J.C. Henderson to all the positions that were stripped from him was a general surprise for many, but according to county attorney Tommy Craig it was the right thing to do .

We can only hope that J.C. Henderson has been scared straight and will learn from this experience that siding with the highest bidder is not always the most honorable thing to do.

The other big news is that the 2050 Plan has been dealt a death blow. It seems a shame that after 10 years of progressive thinking that this should happen. We, again, hope that someone has a plan that will lead the county down the road to growth and prosperity because if they don’t we are going to continue down the same dysfunctional path we are on now.

We think it’s now time to let last month’s hostilities go and allow all of us that care about a prosperous and progressive city and county get back to work together in order to insure that our community has a goal and a plan to see us down the road of a grand future for ourselves our children and our grandchildren.
