CHAR­LIE EL­LIOTT WILDLIFE CEN­TER 2015 Ju­nior Nat­u­ral­ist Sum­mer Camp

Day Camp Ses­sions Na­ture Scouts (ages 5-6): This fun-filled week gives campers the chance to dis­cover the amaz­ing world of an­i­mals and their habi­tats through games and ex­plo­ration. Pond­ing and wildlife watch­ing are just a few of the fun ac­tiv­i­ties that will round out our ad­ven­tures. • June 2-5, 2014 (9 a.m. – 1:30pm) • Cost: $120 per camper

Char­lie’s Track­ers

(ages 7-8): Just like Char­lie El­liott in his youth, campers will gain new out­door skills while they hike for­est trails, ex­plore wa­ter­ways and search for wildlife ev­i­dence. Live an­i­mal en­coun­ters, games and crafts are also planned for this week of fun and adventure. • June 9-12, 2015 (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.) • Cost: $125 per camper.

Shoot­ing Sports Camp

(ages 12-16): We’ve ex­panded and im­proved this popular camp. Campers will re­ceive hands on in­struc­tion from DNR pro­fes­sion­als in archery, shot­gun, air ri­fle and .22 ri­fle. Campers may also par­tic­i­pate in a Youth Hunter Ed­u­ca­tion Chal­lenge (YHEC), which qual­i­fies them to par­tic­i­pate in the state YHEC. • June 29- July 3, 2015 • Mon. 2:30 p.m. - Thur. 2 p.m. • Cost: $250 per camper

Res­i­den­tial Overnight

Camp Ses­sions Camp TALON (Teen Ad­ven­tures Learn­ing Or­nithol­ogy and Na­ture): Camp TALON is a five-day camp for teens in­ter­ested in birds and na­ture. Spon­sored by the Ge­or­gia Depart­ment of Nat­u­ral Re­sources, the Ge­or­gia Or­nitho­log­i­cal So­ci­ety, and the At­lanta Audubon So­ci­ety, par­tic­i­pants get a chance to ex­pe­ri­ence bird­ing on Lit­tle St. Simons Is­land, Was­saw Is­land NWR, Sapelo Is­land, Har­ris Neck NWR, Jekyll Is­land, Al­tamaha WMA, and St. Simons Is­land. Host­ing 16 stu­dents, ages 1216. Older stu­dents may be el­i­gi­ble • May 31-June 4, 2015 • Cost: Early reg­is­tra­tion is $300 Fe­bru­ary 16 – April 30. Reg­is­tra­tion rate May 1–16 is $350. Wildlife Rangers

(ages 9-10): Wildlife Rangers will travel back in time to imag­ine what life was like for the Na­tive Amer­i­cans and early set­tlers of this area. Campers will learn ba­sic sur­vival skills such as shel­ter build­ing, out­door cooking, an­i­mal track­ing, fish­ing, ca­noe­ing, archery, games and old-time mu­sic. WILD Crea­tures of Ge­or­gia Overnight

Camp (ages 11-13): Come and learn about some of the crea­tures that call Ge­or­gia home. Campers will take an up close and per­sonal look at the var­i­ous birds, mam­mals, and rep­tiles that live through­out the state. In ad­di­tion to Project WILD ac­tiv­i­ties, campers will spend time tak­ing care of some of CEWC’s an­i­mal col­lec­tion, and learn­ing what it takes to keep th­ese an­i­mals healthy in cap­tive col­lec­tions. • July 6-10, 2015 • Mon. 2:30 p.m.Thurs 12 p.m. • Cost: $250 per camper

Out­door Adventure

Team Chal­lenge Camp (ages 11-13): Team­work and team spirit abound as campers work to­gether to com­plete chal­lenges us­ing the out­door skills they’ve learned and de­vel­oped through­out the week. This is a fast-paced, high en­ergy camp. Camp days will be brim­ming with out­door pur­suits such as hik­ing, ca­noe­ing, fire build­ing and wilder­ness sur­vival. Our trained and cer­ti­fied coun­selors will guide campers along their jour­ney cul­mi­nat­ing in an all-out, ev­ery team for them­selves com­pe­ti­tion. • July 27- 31, 2015 • Mon. 2:30 p.m.- Fri. 2 p.m. • Cost: $250 per camper

Wild and Won­der­ful Gar­den Club Camp

(boys and girls, ris­ing 5th and 6th grade Gar­den Club Mem­bers):We will high­light ideas from The Gar­den Club of Ge­or­gia; have pro­grams on at­tract­ing birds and but­ter­flies, fish­ing, out­door recre­ation, a night hike and just en­joy­ing the quiet­ness out­side the city. ACE (Ad­ven­tures in Con­ser­va­tion Ed­u­ca­tion) Overnight Camp

(6th-8th grade): ACE is a unique work­shop/camp for mid­dle school stu­dents fo­cus­ing on wildlife con­ser­va­tion. Par­tic­i­pants will spend five days im­mersed in Ge­or­gia wildlife via hands-on ac­tiv­i­ties and day trips in­clud­ing bird­ing in Pied­mont Na­tional Wildlife Refuge, ca­noe­ing in Bond Swamp, mist netting bats at Oconee Na­tional For­est, and ex­plor­ing bogs at Ohoopee Dunes. Also, spend time learn­ing to shoot shot­guns, hik­ing to a rock out­crop and study­ing streams with fish­eries bi­ol­o­gists. De­tailed view of the week. • July 20 – 24, 2015 • Mon. 1 p.m. - Fri. 12:30 p.m. • Cost: $100: Thanks to a grant from The En­vi­ron­men­tal Re­sources Net­work, the cost of the pro­gram is only $100 per per­son which cov­ers all room and board and pro­gram fees) Ap­pli­ca­tion Due: • Early Bird – May 14 • Fi­nal date for ap­pli­ca­tions due June 27 (Pro­vided camp is not full) Space is limited, so ap­ply early. We will begin eval­u­at­ing early bird ap­pli­ca­tions as soon as May 14. We will con­tinue eval­u­at­ing ap­pli­ca­tions on the 1st and 14th of June and July un­til the camp is filled.
