Builders Club adopts Re­source Court

The Builders Club of the New­ton County Theme School at Fic­quett has adopted the New­ton County Re­source Court and its par­tic­i­pants as a com­mu­nity ser­vice project. The Builders Club is spon­sored by the Ki­wa­nis Club of Cov­ing­ton and its fac­ulty spon­sor is Ms. Holly Kaas. The New­ton County Re­source Court is a di­vi­sion of the Su­pe­rior Court of New­ton County and pro­vides su­per­vi­sion and treat­ment of in­di­vid­u­als who have a di­ag­nosed men­tal ill­ness which has con­trib­uted to their com­mit­ting a crim­i­nal of­fense. The sup­port of The Builders Club will en­able the Court to pro­vide greater su­per­vi­sion and treat­ment in its ef­forts to en­able each par­tic­i­pant to live a pro­duc­tive crime-free life in the com­mu­nity. The stu­dents plan to serve the court par­tic­i­pants and their fam­i­lies at a cook­out to be held later this spring. Su­pe­rior Court Judge Sa­muel D.
