Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” McIn­tosh Hooten, age 86, a life­long res­i­dent of Cov­ing­ton passed away July 2, 2015. She was born Fe­bru­ary 15, 1929 in Jersey, Ge­or­gia to Wil­liam and Mary Hig­gin­botham McIn­tosh. Mrs. Hooten was a mem­ber of the North Cov­ing­ton United Methodist Church, join­ing in 1954. She worked for Bibb Man­u­fac­tur­ing for 45 years and en­joyed work­ing in her gar­den and with her flow­ers around her home. She was the youngest of 9 chil­dren and was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents and her sib­lings. Mrs. Hooten is sur­vived by her hus­band of 65 years, Mr. Ed Hooten, along with her pet But­tons and nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews, great nieces and neph­ews, other fam­ily and close friends.

Fu­neral ser­vices for Mrs. Hooten will be held at 11 a.m. Mon­day, July 6, 2015 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son with Rev­erend Dan Dixon of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Lawn­wood Me­mo­rial Park. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the fu­neral home from 10-11 a.m. on Mon­day prior to the fu­neral ser­vice. J.C.
