Pin­na­cle Bank’s Jack­son McCon­nell named Ge­or­gia Bankers As­so­ci­a­tion Chair­man

L. Jack­son McCon­nell Jr., pres­i­dent and CEO of Pin­na­cle Fi­nan­cial Cor­po­ra­tion and its sub­sidiary bank, Pin­na­cle Bank, El­ber­ton, was in­stalled as the 126th chair­man of the Ge­or­gia Bankers As­so­ci­a­tion (GBA) dur­ing the GBA An­nual Meet­ing June 23. McCon­nell was elected to the po­si­tion by his peers through­out Ge­or­gia.

“Jack­son is among the most well-re­spected ca­reer bankers in Ge­or­gia, and we’re for­tu­nate to have him lead­ing the as­so­ci­a­tion for the next year,” said Joe Bran­nen, GBA pres­i­dent and CEO. “Our banks and our in­dus­try will be well-served by his ex­pe­ri­ence and in­sight­ful­ness about the crit­i­cal is­sues fac­ing our mem­bers, their cus­tomers and Ge­or­gia’s com­mu­ni­ties.”

As chair­man of GBA, McCon­nell will guide the as­so­ci­a­tion’s gov­ern­ment re­la­tions and public ad­vo­cacy ef­forts, ed­u­ca­tional pro­gram­ming for bankers and the prod­ucts and ser­vices the as­so­ci­a­tion pro­vides for its mem­bers.

McCon­nell is also a mem­ber of the GBA In­sur­ance Trust board of di­rec­tors and has served the GBA on its board of di­rec­tors, chaired its Public Af­fairs com­mit­tee and been on its BankPAC board of di­rec­tors.

McCon­nell grad­u­ated from the Ge­or­gia In­sti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy in 1988 with a bach­e­lor’s de­gree in Man­age­ment and cer­tifi­cate de­grees in Eco­nom­ics and Or­ga­ni­za­tional Psy­chol­ogy. In 1997, he com­pleted the Grad­u­ate School of Bank­ing at Colorado. He be­gan his bank­ing ca­reer with Trust Com­pany Bank in At­lanta (later SunTrust) as a com­mer­cial banker and joined Pin­na­cle in 1994. McCon­nell has been pres­i­dent of Pin­na­cle Bank since 2001, mak­ing him the third-gen­er­a­tion to man­age the bank af­ter his fa­ther and grand­fa­ther.

Head­quar­tered in El­ber­ton, Ge­or­gia, Pin­na­cle Bank has 13 branch of­fices in eight north­east Ge­or­gia coun­ties and $650 mil­lion in to­tal as­sets. The com­pany is pri­vately owned and has been serv­ing its lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties since 1934.

Founded in 1892, the Ge­or­gia Bankers As­so­ci­a­tion pro­motes the gen­eral wel­fare and use­ful­ness of bank­ing and the preser­va­tion of a sound bank­ing sys­tem. For 123 years, the GBA has pro­vided Ge­or­gia’s banks with topqual­ity pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment, rev­enue-en­hanc­ing prod­ucts and ser­vices, gov­ern­men­tal re­la­tions and public ad­vo­cacy.
