NCSO in­volved in shoot­ing near Si­los

New­ton County Sher­iff’s Of­fice deputies were in­volved in a shoot­ing near the Si­los at Elling­ton Fri­day night, in which two sus­pects were in­jured and trans­ported to area hos­pi­tals.

Ac­cord­ing to NCSO Sgt. Cort­ney Mor­ri­son, a deputy made a traf­fic stop on Brown Bridge Road near Charleston Place be­tween 8:30 and 8:45 p.m. af­ter spot­ting a sus­pi­cious ve­hi­cle that may have been in­volved in an ear­lier crime.

Mor­ri­son told The News that no deputies were in­jured.

“As a re­sult of the traf­fic stop a sit­u­a­tion en­sued and deputies dis­charged their weapons at two sus­pects, who were in­jured.

The Ge­or­gia Bureau of In­ves­ti­ga­tion was called on scene to con­duct an in­de­pen­dent in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

The NCSO Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion was also called to the sit­u­a­tion, which is still un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion, with no fur­ther de­tails avail­able at this time.
