Join Cov­ing­ton Main Street for Small Busi­ness Satur­day. Sev­eral down­town shops and restau­rants will par­tic­i­pate in the hol­i­day shop­ping day.

Fri­day, Dec. 2

Join Cov­ing­ton Main Street for a show­ing of “The Po­lar Express” as part of the Christ­mas on the Square events. The movie will start at 9 p.m.

Satur­day, Dec. 3

The Cov­ing­ton Lions Club will host its an­nual Christ­mas Pa­rade at 10 a.m. On­line reg­is­tra­tion for the pa­rade is avail­able at www.cov­ing­tonalions.org/ events/christ­mas-pa­rade.

Sun­day, Dec. 4

Meet in the Cov­ing­ton Square at 3 p.m. for the for the monthly com­mu­nity bike ride. Rides are led by com­mu­nity vol­un­teers who en­joy shar­ing their en­thu­si­asm for bik­ing and trails.

Fri­day, Dec. 9

Join Cov­ing­ton Main Street for a show­ing of “How the Grinch Stole Christ­mas (1966)” as part of the Christ­mas on the Square events. The movie will start at 9 p.m.

To raise money for a schol­ar­ship to go to ninth grade theatre ma­jors in the Academy for Per­form­ing and Vis­ual Arts at Her­itage High School in Cony­ers, the theatre depart­ment of the school is host­ing a “Do It For Jared” Christ­mas Bowl at AMF Bowl­ing in Cony­ers from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jared Rollins-Jones passed away nearly two years ago from sickle cell ane­mia. He was born in New­ton County 16 years ago.

Satur­day, Dec. 10

Salem United Methoidst Church, 3962 Salem Road, will spon­sor its an­nual Break­fast with Santa from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Fam­ily Life Cen­ter. A break­fast and pic­ture with Santa are in­cluded for the ticket price of $6. There will also be a Se­cret Santa Shop with gifts $5 or less with free wrap­ping. Come see and hear the Christ­mas Story at 6 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. in down­town Cov­ing­ton.
