Early SPLOST vot­ing be­gins Mon­day

Early vot­ing for the March 21 SPLOST vote be­gins Mon­day.

Ac­cord­ing to the New­ton County Board of Elec­tions, early vot­ing will be­gin Feb. 27 and run through March 17 at the New­ton County Ad­min­is­tra­tion Build­ing only. Polls will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon­day through Fri­day.

There will be no vot­ing March 20, the Mon­day prior to the elec­tion.

On March 21, vot­ers should go to their as­signed vot­ing place. The Board of Elec­tions says that all 22 polling lo­ca­tions will be open 7 a.m.7 p.m. on Elec­tion Day.

The Board of Elec­tions is cur­rently ac­cept­ing ap­pli­ca­tions for ab­sen­tee bal­lots for the 2017 SPLOST elec­tion. Ac­cord­ing to the board, the dead­line to re­quest an ab­sen­tee bal­lot to be mailed is March 17 at 5 p.m.
