Gun stolen in ve­hi­cle break-in

The Cov­ing­ton Po­lice Depart­ment (CPD) re­sponded to re­ports of ve­hi­cles be­ing bro­ken into Thurs­day.

Ac­cord­ing to one CPD re­port, a man said he parked his ve­hi­cle at a res­i­dence on Hen­dricks Street at around 3:30 p.m. April 6 and when he re­turned around 4 p.m., he no- ticed the door wasn’t closed all the way. He re­port­edly told po­lice that $50 was miss­ing from the cup holder and his High Point JCP .40 cal­iber hand­gun was miss­ing from un­der the driver’s seat.

In an­other re­port, a man on Pav­il­ion Way told po­lice he parked his 2005 F-150 pick-up around noon and when he re­turned at about 2:15 p.m., he no­ticed the driver’s side rear win­dow bro­ken out. Ac­cord- ing to the re­port, there was glass in the ve­hi­cle and on the ground un­der the win­dow. The truck’s owner re­port­edly told po­lice that a cam­ou­flage book bag con­tain­ing fish­ing gear was miss­ing.
