The New­ton County His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety has a new ex­hibit at the old court­house fea­tur­ing se­lected works of lo­cal artist Mitchell “Mitch” Wright. All are wel­come to view the ex­hibit dur­ing nor­mal court­house hours of op­er­a­tion, through the end of June.

Mod­els wanted: Kids, young adults, high school­ers, men and women and se­nior cit­i­zens. If you have tal­ent, dance rou­tines, step­pers, singers and rap­pers are also needed. Sun­day, June 4

Meet in down­town Cov­ing­ton at 3 p.m. for the Com­mu­nity Bike Ride the first Sun­day of each month. Co-hosted by the New­ton Trails, Main Street Cov­ing­ton and the Cov­ing­ton/New­ton County Vis­i­tors Cen­ter, for more in­for­ma­tion visit http://www.new­ton­trails.org/com­mu­nity-bik­eride. The ride starts and fin­ishes at the Square. The first loop is a gen­tle, fam­ily-friendly 4.5 mile roll around his­toric down­town Cov­ing­ton. Then, if you’re up for a lit­tle more fun, take a ride out and back on the scenic East­side Trail.

The Arts As­so­ci­a­tion in­vites you to join the New­ton County Com­mu­nity Band and other choirs in the com­mu­nity in singing at the Stars & Stripes Fest. Prac­tice starts at 7 p.m. at East­side High School.

Mans­field Bap­tist Church will host Va­ca­tion Bible School from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The theme this year is “Galac­tic Star­vey­ors – Dis­cov­er­ing the God of the Uni­verse.” It is open to ages K4 through fifth grade. For more in­for­ma­tion, visit www.mb­clife.org.

The New­ton County Board of Elec­tions and Voter Reg­is­tra­tion will meet for its reg­u­lar monthly meet­ing at 10 a.m. in their of­fice lo­cated at 1113 Usher St., Suite 103, in Cov­ing­ton. The pub­lic is in­vited.

Salem United Methodist Church will host Va­ca­tion Bible School nightly from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. To reg­is­ter, go to www.sale­mumc.org or call the church of­fice. On Sun­day the church will host a block party to kick off VBS at 5 p.m. with in­flata- bles, games and free food. The church is lo­cated at 3962 Salem Rd., in Cov­ing­ton. Gospel Mis­sion Church on Al­mon Road will host a large yard sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There will be face paint­ing, cake walks, BBQ sand­wiches, boiled peanuts and more. All pro­ceeds will go to the church’s build­ing fund.
