Con­ve­nience Cen­ter tags avail­able for sale now

Ve­hi­cle hang tags to New­ton County’s Trash Col­lec­tion Con­ve­nience Cen­ters are ON SALE NOW.

This year, New­ton County’s Res­i­den­tial User Pro­gram pro­vides cit­i­zens with two op­tions for garbage dis­posal. One op­tion is the same ser­vice New­ton County res­i­dents have en­joyed for roughly two decades al­low­ing dis­posal of all house­hold garbage. The sec­ond op­tion al­lows re­cy­cling only for those who have curb­side res­i­den­tial garbage pickup or bring their trashdi­rectly to the land­fill

Tags are $145 for all six cen­ters, in­clud­ing the re­cy­cling-only op­tion or $24 for the re­cy­clin­gonly cen­ter on By­pass Road. The tags are valid from the date of pur­chase through June 30, 2018. Tags can be pur­chased at the New­ton County His- toric Court­house, 1124 Clark Street, Cov­ing­ton, GA from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mon­day through Fri­day, on­line at ncboc.com/ on­line- ser­vices/ res­i­den­tial- user- ac­cess- pro­gram or through the mail by print­ing out an ap­pli­ca­tion form from ncboc. com and send­ing it to 1113 Usher Street, Cov­ing­ton, Ga, 30014.

Ve­hi­cle hang tags are re­quired to use one of the county’s col­lec­tion cen­ters. Only New­ton County res­i­dents can pur­chase and use a tag, and they must show proof of res­i­dence at the point of pur­chase. Valid proofs of res­i­dency in­cludes tax or util­ity bill, mort­gage state­ment, driver’s li­cense or lease agree­ment.

The cur­rent tags are only valid through June 30 and will not be ac­cepted be­gin­ning July 1.
