Marvin Moore to run for Porterdale Council Post 4
In response to encouragement from fellow citizens of Porterdale and his intention to find opportunities to give back to the community, Marvin Moore has decided to run for City Council.
Marvin is originally from Central California where he grew up on a dairy farm owned and operated by his family. He started his career with IBM and a few years later joined his first startup company. Over the next several years he held various management positions. He has held a Real Estate Brokers License and was part of a turnaround management team.
In 1989 he was asked to come to this area to help a manufacturing company that was in bankruptcy. He agreed to come for 90 days during which time he fell in love with the small town lifestyle and the people. In 1989 the company emerged from bankruptcy. The company was later sold to what is now Hill Phoenix (the largest employer in Rockdale County). He has 40 years in management, with the last 25 years in executive management.
Marvin Moore moved to Porterdale three years ago and purchased and renovated a fourroom mill house for himself. Renovation of old houses is how he is spending his retirement days.
Being a part of the renaissance of Porterdale and believing that his business and technical skills will make him a valuable part of the Porterdale team have motivated him to run for office.
