Ox­ford Col­lege kicks off school year with Coke toast

Ox­ford Col­lege of Emory Univer­sity kicked off the start of its aca­demic year with its Coke Toast on Fri­day af­ter­noon. The an­nual event cel­e­brated on both Emory cam­puses rec­og­nizes the school’s long­time re­la­tion­ship with Coca-Cola. Ox­ford Col­lege Di­rec­tor of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Cathy Wooten said the Ox­ford cam­pus is wel­com­ing 482 first year stu­dents from 21 dif­fer­ent coun­tries, 41 states, District of Columbia and two U.S. ter­ri­to­ries. Wooten said it is the most highly cre­den­tialed academy en­ter­ing class in the col­lege’s his­tory. Classes be­gin Thurs­day.
