Piedmont hosts ‘Walk with a Doc’ Oct. 24
Piedmont Newton Hospital, partnered with Newton Trails, is hosting a Walk with the Doc event on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Er
ica Scott, MD, a general surgeon who recently joined Piedmont Newton, will be this walk’s featured healthcare professional. The walk will begin at the Elm Street trailhead, adjacent to the Newton County parking deck.
Dr. Scott, who has a special interest in breast surgery, will be introduced and will provide information on Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which takes place in October. From there, walkers will pass through the paved portion of the trail to Conyers Street and a shorter primitive section towards the Covington Bypass.
During the twomile walk, Dr. Scott will be available to answer any health-related questions and to chat along the way. It’s free and open to everybody – pets included, and Piedmont Newton encourages walkers to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
