MOON DAY 2016
Col. Walt Cunningham, lunar module pilot of the Apollo 7 mission, will be the featured speaker at what’s billed as the largest annual space-themed expo in Texas. Visitors can listen to a question-and-answer session between select Dallas-area students and International Space Station Commander Jeffrey Williams. Other highlights of this family-oriented event include Moon Academy and Lunar University classes; Southern Methodist University’s Physics Circus; the chance to get inside a Russian space suit; and more than 36 exhibitors with robotic demos, meteorite samples and other space-related activities and displays. The first 250 young visitors will receive bags of space-themed goodies.
July 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Frontiers of Flight Museum, 6911 Lemmon Ave., Dallas. $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (65 and older), $7 for ages 3-17. 214-350-3600. flightmuseum.com.
