Fundrais­ing event to help pay for ser­vice dog train­ing

The Life Is Sweet spring car­ni­val, auc­tion and vendor fair will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sat­ur­day at Shawnee Trail Church of Christ, 10633 John W. El­liott Drive in Frisco.

Ad­mis­sion is free. There will be car­ni­val games, bounce houses and ven­dors along with a si­lent auc­tion. Bid­ding for some of the auc­tion items is avail­able online at bri­an­cal­lie2017 .eflea.ca. The online auc­tion closes at 10 p.m. Tues­day.

All pro­ceeds from the event will help Brian El­lis, a Frisco teen who was di­ag­nosed with Type 1 di­a­betes last year. He is rais­ing money to have his dog Cal­lie trained to be a di­a­betic alert dog. The dog’s train­ing is be­ing done through the non­profit All Pur­pose Ca­nines.
